Motivation and Vision

Our Motivation

The EU AI Act introduces a framework for trustworthy AI development and deployment. Navigating the complex regulatory landscape of AI while ensuring responsible AI innovation remains a significant challenge for actors in Bavaria. Various actors—technology, policy, law, public bodies, and industry—develop and deploy AI systems with distinct strategies, often leading to isolated and misaligned efforts. We see a pressing need to foster discourse within the Bavarian AI ecosystem.

Why the TW AI event series?

We aim to establish this community in Bavaria in our series of events to enhance knowledge transfer, collaboration, and discourse among actors in Bavaria regarding AI governance and the AI Act. By comparing notes on the Act's provisions, and addressing ethical and practical challenges of developing and deploying compliant AI Systems, we build a community of diverse yet like-minded individuals in the field of Trustworthy AI in our region.

Impact goal

When being part of the “Comparing Notes on Trustworthy AI Community”, participants (1) develop a shared understanding of diverse perspectives on Trustworthy AI, (2) learn about common challenges and best practices, and thereby (3) accelerate AI Innovation in compliance with the AI Act .
